Walberton & Binsted CE Primary School is a popular village school situated three miles from the historic town of Arundel with its majestic castle, and about six miles from the cathedral City of Chichester.

We have come a long way since it was founded in 1732, when John Nash bequeathed £12 for a school master to teach 18 children to ‘read, sew, and knit’.

Today we have 209 children in seven classes, one class for each year group, together with a staff of 20 teachers and teaching assistants who are totally committed in providing our children with the very best start in life. Our children achieve high standards, but also benefit from a range of experiences and opportunities as part of the school curriculum as well as extra curricular clubs and activities.

In September 2006 we moved in to our brand new building, which has been awarded ‘Highly Commended’ by West Sussex County Council for sustainability, a ‘Very Good’ rating by BREEAM, and has also gained a ‘Security by Design Award’ by West Sussex Police.
The building provides our children with an educational environment to meet the needs of the 21st century, where creativity and independent learning are encouraged both within the building and in the outside environment.
